Between you and me

Bed..

I look closely for I wish to see the smiles hidden in wrinkles. Night is almost over and you lie awake, in the neon. I wonder if I whispered to you – as far as you go, I’ll come with you.

Breakfast..

I call your name, and you look around for the young sexy siren. Don’t mind calling you as many times, till I see your jealous eyes search for the woman that you were once.

Lunch..

I loved you in your tight jeans, now I love you in your overflowing gown. I smile at how you pull your hand back, and then realise it fits in mine perfectly. I’m helpless when you are sad and cry when you run away from me scared.

Tea..

I miss you with your wit and humor, but I love you still. I love you with all your screams and scars. My creeping up age makes me afraid of who will love you like I do, when the time comes.

Supper..

I sit here with you. With your recent medical report, which I can barely make sense of. You sit here with me. With the picture of teenage us, which you can barely make sense of.

We may drift off to sunset, but love will stay for sunrise.
